Helen had gone for a walk to clear her head, as she did most days. It offered her a chance to get away and have time for herself that wasn't dedicated to the sanctuary or to Nikola, or to anyone else. Just 'Helen' time, in a sense. It was growing later, however, and she knew eventually she'd need to return.
Clasping her hands together, Helen paused when she saw the lily, smiling faintly. Her favorite flower. She bent to pick it, inhaling the beautiful scent for a long moment before she tucked it behind an ear. Lillies always had been her favorite - her mother had always smelled of lillies.
Helen hummed softly in contentment before letting out a soft sigh. She closed her eyes a long moment, the smell of lillies still lingering. She could imagine her mother, standing before her, the soft voice humming gentle lullabies to her. She smiled faintly, eyes flickering back open. Such memories she normally didn't allow herself time for, but perhaps now that she was on her own time, it was acceptable.
